About Lincs Thermal Imaging

Lincs Thermal Imaging  was created in 2011 under its sister company name Visible Equine.

Primarily set up as a specialist thermal imaging company for sports horses of all disciplines it soon branched out. Following the continuing success of imaging horses there was the natural progression to imaging their riders too.

As an avid football fan, the attention was then drawn to the benefits of thermal imaging and its ability to detect injuries often before pain is felt. This led to the creation of Lincs Thermal Imaging, which provides the same benefits to athletes and non-athletes alike.

Our specialists have completed training in the UK with further training in Holland and Spain. We use the very top equipment manufactured by Flir.

Lincs Thermal Imaging isn't just for athletes and is open to anyone who wants to benefit from this service. Having the ability to map pain is important for so many people in many different ways. Whether it's to have the images to take to your GP/therapist, assessment of treatment efficacy or even if you just want to see it for yourself, then thermal imaging is for you.

For athletes this invaluable service primarily aims to help to cut down on injures that in some cases can be career-ending. Routine imaging can detect potential injuries by identifying small changes in the skin surface temperature. This information can then be used to alter training or direct treatment plans and ultimately avoiding serious injuries.  If you are already injured you can use this technology to enhance your recovery to give both you and your therapist real-time information on the recovery progress.

Another unique aspect of using this modality is in monitoring how the injured site is reacting to recommencing work once healing is complete. At any stage you can accurately assess if a workload increase is causing an inflammatory response.

If it is then an early intervention protocol can be initiated with your support team. The camera measure changes in 0.1°C so even small changes in the thermal image can be detected. Temperature differences are then assessed to determine if the results are significant or not.

It's important to note that thermal imaging is not a diagnostic tool and at no point will a diagnosis be given by myself. It is an excellent detection tool to map surface temperature variations which reflects the underlying physiology. As part of the service you will be emailed a report highlighting any asymmetries and the significance of the temperature differences.

Reports can also be emailed to your GP or other members of your support team. I am always happy to discuss the significance of the results with these individuals.

You will have the option of having either the upper or lower body imaged or a full body scan depending on your requirements.

The imaging process is quick and non-contact and completely safe. The data will then be analysed and you will be emailed a report with all of your images.
